I’m a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician specializing in Brain Injury Rehabilitation Medicine—and I’m here to support you and your caregivers throughout your recovery journey. From Brazil to Cupertino, Dominica to Miami, and now Chicago, I’ve seen a common pattern in healthcare: limited time with your doctor, miscommunication, delays in diagnosis, and long waits for appointments. These challenges inspired me to pursue medicine and become a board-certified physiatrist with subspecialty training in brain injury rehabilitation. I’ve led programs at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital in Chicago and at TIRR Memorial Hermann–Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, helping patients heal across inpatient, post-acute, and outpatient settings. Despite the setting, the story remained the same—survivors and families often face a system that’s difficult to navigate and lacks the resources needed for recovery. That’s why I founded Wellness by Physiatry, a Chicago-based clinic focused on integrative, brain-injury-informed care that stays with you every step of the way.
